CI Program

Enroll in the CI Program to begin earning the Chartered Investor (CI) credential, the most respected and recognized investment banking and private equity designation in the world. The CI Program provides a strong foundation of advanced financial modeling and valuation skills that will help you enter the world of investment banking and private equity.

The CI Program curriculum covers concepts and skills you will use daily as an investment banking analyst or associate. The self-paced, online format makes it easier for you to continue working while you complete the program. Completing the CI Program shows employers and clients you have mastered a broad range of practical investment banking and private equity skills.

The CI Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), the curriculum content, learning outcome statements (LOS), and topic area weights are based upon Rosenbaum and Pearl's Investment Banking: Valuation, Leveraged Buyouts, and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Register for CI Exams

To enroll in the Chartered Investor Program and register for your first Level I exam, you must have:

An international travel passport (read the ID policy) and

One of the following:

Undergraduate education: A bachelor's (or equivalent) degree or be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program (when you register for the Level II exam, you will be required to update your education information), or

Work experience: Four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related), or

A combination of professional work experience and education that totals at least four years (part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment).

CI Program Exam Calendars

The exams are offered annually at test centers around the world on the first Saturday in June. The Level I exam is also offered in December.

Program Enrollment Fee

A one-time program enrollment fee is required when you register for your first Level I CI Program exam. The program enrollment fee is $1,999.
